Abstract

Based on the analysis of simulation results, increased number of cores yield better performance, but it consumes a lot of power. For power efficiency and attractive performance, core-thread combinations should be properly chosen in the early design stage based modeling using the target workload. This research provides a framework on how to choose an optimal core-thread combination.
