Abstract
The following document contains a theoretical analysis, sociocultural reflections, performance practice applications, and pedagogical considerations for Carl Loewe's Frauenliebe und leben, Claude Debussy's Fêtes galantes, Antonio Vivaldi's "Sposa son disprezzata" (Il Tamerlano), and Libby Larsen's Beloved, Thou Hast Brought Me Many Flowers. These works will be presented in a graduate recital in partial fulfillment of the Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy degree.
