Abstract

Blockchain technology is a decentralized and distributed system that has recently attracted tremendous interest for research in multiple areas, such as healthcare, supply chain and artificial intelligence (AI), as it introduces data integrity, data sharing and availability properties to a variety of applications. Although the benefits of blockchain technology bring more reliable and convenient services to any industry, the individual challenges behind each industrial domain are yet to be fully explored. In this dissertation, we design and implement a variety of blockchain infrastructures using a flexible blockchain platform known as Hyperledger Fabric. We rely on smart contracts to operate the proposed frameworks, and to introduce security and privacy features to diverse industrial use cases.
