Abstract

This research paper examines the relationship between national-level deregulation and family income and wealth in the United States. This analysis utilizes Elite Class Theory and focuses on U.S. Census Bureau income and wealth data sets drawn from 1970 to 2009 in five year increments. It also identifies racial, ethnic, gender, and class relationships with these macro-level regulatory trends.
