This thesis examines work-family conflict within a small Hispanic family-owned business located in the Westside of San Antonio, Texas. The research focuses on a wholesale produce business that has been owned and operated by family members for over a span of decades. This work explored the theoretical perspectives of boundary work and family-work conflict to then apply these theoretical perspectives to participants' oral histories and a case study of a family multigenerational business. The analysis centers on interpersonal relationships and work-family conflict found within a family owned business. In addition, I discuss the actions and meanings behind social and interpersonal interactions and leadership that stress and sustain a family-owned business.
