Abstract
This thesis will explore the potential for conflict that could occur between the U.S. and China. In order to circumvent the potential for military conflict, there is a need for cooperation between the two countries. This approach is possible through a form of staggered bilateral cooperation, with particular focus placed on those areas where both countries share common interests. For methodology I will use a case study method, the case study will look at three cases in each of the categories where there has been U.S. and China bilateral cooperation – the individual case studies are military, environmental, and space development.
