Gonzalez Convention Center Expansion in downtown San Antonio, Texas. This area, now in HemisFair Park, was once part of the agricultural fields for the Mission San Antonio de Valero (the Alamo). This report presents a general history of the area, a review of previous archaeological research in HemisFair Park, detailed archival research on nineteenth-century buildings known to be present in the construction area, and recommendations for further archaeological investigations in preparation for the construction of the Convention Center.
