Police Officers' Accommodative Communication

This study analyzed police-civilian interactions (via recollections of police officers) using communication accommodation theory as a sensitizing framework. Analysis was conducted by thematically constructing strategies of (non)accommodation. The study finds four major themes in which police officers converge or diverge their communication depending on the interaction they describe.
