Abstract

Introduction:

Counseling Professionals can promote transformative healing among Indigenous trauma survivors by acknowledging the impact of historical trauma. Integrating cultural safety into trauma-informed care can help repair the damage caused by colonization and extend support for recovery.

Objective:

  1. Attendees will be able to state four critical dimensions of the equity-oriented care model.
  2. Attendees will be able to become familiar with culturally safe trauma-informed care strategies.
  3. Attendees can synthesize cultural safety and trauma-informed care implications when working with Indigenous populations.
