This research project presents a rhetorical criticism of the Storyletters Records, 1991-2000, located in the University of Texas at San Antonio Special Collections (MS 40). The purpose of this study is to conduct the first research examination of this collection of rhetorical artifacts. The methodology used was Bitzer’s rhetorical situation analysis for each of the seven selected stories separating them into three clusters based on a common theme. Findings revealed that this collection of rhetorical artifacts contains valuable insight toward building community through the story letters. This study concludes that rhetorical artifacts offer alternative perspectives on life and add to cross-cultural understandings.en_US
