Abstract

MoBBED (Mobile Brain-Body-Environment Decision-making) is a data-driven approach for developing assistive and monitoring technologies for soldiers in real world environments. Data acquired from a variety of sources including EEG, eye-tracking, motion capture, muscle activity, heart rate, and environmental sensors must be merged and analyzed to provide the input features for integrated decision and monitor algorithms. This data will be, for the most part, annotated streaming data characterized by diverse formats, high data rates, and complex interrelationships. Analysis and discovery in such a data corpus requires a viewing infrastructure that is robust, extensible, and capable of extracting complex combinations of features for analysis and visualization. This white paper introduces the MoBBED Views infrastructure - a MATLAB-based toolkit for developing modular data viewers. We discuss a particular application, EEGVIS, built using this toolkit to illustrate the features and capabilities of the toolkit.
