dc.description.abstractThe antifungal diterpene casbene has been prepared in low yield by intramolecular cyclopropanation of the vinyldiazomethane reactant formed from geranylgeraniol. Careful analysis of the reaction mixture revealed relatively unselective addition catalyzed by dirhodium(II) and copper(I) catalysts.
