Abstract

This thesis is a study of how to encourage the use of public transportation in San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding suburban area within Bexar County, Texas. It is done in three steps. First, the thesis explores what strategies were proven successful to increase the use of public transportation in other cities in the United States. Then it investigates the gap between the current strategies taken by the public transportation agency in the study area to increase public transportation use. Finally, it suggests transportation improvement strategies that will increase the use of public transportation in the study area.
