During early 1980, personnel from the Center for Archqeological Research, The University of Texas at San Antonio, were involved in intensive survey and limited testing operations at archaeological sites in a proposed pipeline right-of-way along the Rio Grande, Webb County, Texas. Eight terrace sites, located just south of the city of Laredo, were investigated to determine potential eligibility for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places and for selection as State Historical Landmarks. Both historic and prehistoric cultural materials were identified at these sites including the remains of two previously unrecorded prehistoric burials.
