Abstract

The Waterfall model has evolved over time to facilitate the needs and realities of large-scale software/systems development. Increasingly we are seeing agile modifications being made to the Waterfall to reflect new philosophies in software development methodology, and increasing size and complexity of software in today's modern organizations. In this paper I utilize the Agility Measurement Index (AMI) to assess each phase of the Waterfall for compatibility for integration with two key, very different agile models. In this study I aim to uncover ways to maximize benefits realized from applying agile methods to the Waterfall model.
